  – Ofer Mizrahi, visionary developer and founder of Ironside, hosted the closing party for the inaugural Startup Nation Conference to bring together the participants and guests of the event in the intimate setting of the Miami’s only sustainably designed district. Developer and entrepreneur Ofer Mizrahi moved to Miami over twenty years ago bringing the innovative spirit of his country with him. Today the founder of Ironside district is an active advocate of sustainable development, design, and living within Miami’s community.

Startup Nation Conference is collaboration between the Idea Center at Miami Dade College and Tel Aviv University with the support of Knight Foundation. The goal of the initiative is to connect Tel Aviv - the world’s most successful innovation tech community after Silicon Valley- with Miami’s startup ecosystem. The first edition of the conference took place at MDC’s Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami on May 17, 206. Throughout the day the visitors were invited to attend presentations by the leading tech companies of Israel, participate in the panel discussions, and several events held throughout the day and in the after-hours.

"The goal of the conference is to build a bridge between Tel Aviv and Miami's own budding startup community"

Matt Haggman, Program Director of Knight Foundation

Mr. Mizrahi commented: “Sustainability is not a choice but the law in Israel. USA has to follow the example before it is too late. I’m happy to see eco-minded Israeli companies such as Woosh, ECOconcrete, and many others participating in the Startup Nation Conference.  Their presence in Miami can help local tech startups to do future-conscious business.”

The closing event organized by Ofer Mizrahi was co-hosted by Matt Hagman (Program Director, Knight Foundation), Leandro Finol (Executive Director, The Idea Center), Nelly Farra (Director of The WIN Lab, Miami Girls Foundation Ambassador), and Yellopepper
